Easy to prepare and versatile, this quiche is sure to impress your guests and satisfy your cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices beef bacon, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven and Ingredients
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a pie dish and set it aside.
  2. Cook the Beef Bacon
Warm the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped beef bacon and cook until it becomes crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet, leaving the drippings behind, and set it aside.
  3. Caramelize the Onions
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions to the bacon drippings. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes or until the onions become golden brown and caramelized. Mix in the thyme, along with salt and pepper, adjusting to your taste preferences.
  4. Mix the Filling
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until smooth. Carefully mix the shredded Gruyère cheese, caramelized onions, and crispy beef bacon into the batter.
  5. Assemble the Quiche
Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly. Ensure the ingredients are well-distributed.
  6. Bake the Quiche
Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden. Test for doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should emerge clean
  7. Cool and Serve
Let the quiche cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley for an added pop of color and serve warm.

Notes

  • Rich Flavors: Use high-quality Gruyère cheese and fresh thyme for the best flavor.
  • Avoid Soggy Crust: Blind bake the pie crust to ensure a firm base.
  • Meal Prep-Friendly: The quiche stores and reheats well, making it ideal for advance preparation.
