Description

Indulge in the perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and creamy flavors with this Blackberry Balsamic and Brie Grilled Cheese. Combining melted Brie, juicy blackberries, and a touch of balsamic vinegar, this recipe takes the classic grilled cheese to gourmet heights. Whether you’re preparing a quick lunch or a special treat, this sandwich is as easy to make as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of bread (sourdough, multigrain, or your choice)
  • 8 oz Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

1. Prepare the Blackberry Mixture

  • In a small bowl, use a fork to gently mash the blackberries until they are partially crushed.
  • Stir in the balsamic vinegar until well combined. Set aside for the flavors to develop.

2. Assemble the Sandwiches

  • Apply softened butter evenly to one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place one slice of bread, butter side down, on a work surface.
  • Layer with slices of Brie cheese and a generous spoonful of the blackberry mixture.
  • Place another slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing outward.

3. Cook the Sandwiches

  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place the assembled sandwiches onto the hot surface and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.

4. Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute. Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh blackberries for the best flavor, but frozen ones work too.
  • Adjust balsamic vinegar to your taste for more or less tanginess.
  • Brie should be slightly chilled for easier slicing.
  • Cook sandwiches over medium heat to avoid burning.
